Undergroundmusicblog announcements

Hello. If you are reading this, I am no longer blogging on this blog. But, there are almost 250 posts, so feel free to look through them. Even though it won't be new music, it'll still be good music.
So . . . bye.

*This is 12/23/13. I changed the polls slightly so that you can vote until 1/1/24. That's almost ten years from now. I at least wanted any people who happened to be visiting to be able to vote. I didn't extend it any longer because this blog will either get deleted or aliens will cause mass chaos by deleting the internet or murdering that huge satellite in space.
Thought you might want to know that my friend has a blog, and we are very alike. http://www.electricperspectivemusic.blogspot.com/
Yeah.
Oh well. Yeah. This blog is kind of . . . dead.
I guess this is goodbye. Again. Because it's a second goodbye, it's awkwarder, so there's no way to wrap this up. But I'm not a writer or anything, and this is the internet, so I can cut myself off midsentence and add three little dots afterwards . . .

Guilty Pleasures #18

This one is actually kind of reasonable, but I normally don't listen to or show you songs quite like this, so the song belongs in this segment.
It's If the Shoe Fits by Imora: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95_SMhVKQAs
It's a pretty decent song....but I generally don't show you songs like that, right?
So...if you like screaming, you'll like that song...I suppose....
um....
*insert funny punch-line here*

Guilty Pleasures #18

I am running out of Guilty Pleasures. I think that having a blog where I openly show people music has taken away my ability to be scared of the reaction towards my opinions. I feel like I am living in a world where the fear of being judged and frowned upon is slowly fading away; dimming into a small light at the end of a long chasm of darkness, misery, and my past.
So, cool. I'm not as shy. That kinda sucks...because now I don't have anything to write about.
I had to really dig back into my past for this one.
You may or may not know that I like the anime Death Note. My favorite character is L, and I've probably spent hours just watching cosplay interviews and skits.
So if you're a fan of Death Note, here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPmRLvNl8nc
*Also, Death Note was the most confusing anime I have ever seen. I was rooting for both L and Light, because I knew that once L caught Kira that the anime would be over, but I also wanted L to catch Light because I favored L's character. I wanted Kira to not be caught because the suspense was building, (I WILL TAKE A POTATO CHIP.....AND EAT IT) and I didn't want Light to kill L but *SPOILER ALERT* HE DID AND I WAS SO SAD. I think Near was an alright replacement for L, because he did catch Kira and had supportable evidence. L was right all along, but at the end things started to get messed up and I was like "L WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!??!!" and then he died and Light acted sad but like that was real at all. Near just gave evidence that Light was Kira so Near technically solved the case. And Light pretended to be on the good side for all of those years and he tricked Misa, and I think Misa commited suicide because during the last episode she was shown at the top of a building and UGGH...
I should mention to you guys that I have a personality type called INTP. It's supposed to be a mix of genius and laziness. I do a lot of thinking, and what I just wrote above made absolute sense to me. Sorry if it made no sense to you.
You asked for it.

Guilty Pleasures #16

Wow! Guilty Pleasures is old enough to drive! 16...wow....
She's prepared to lose her dignity.

So, the song I'm going to talk about today is Bulls in the Bronx by Pierce the Veil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WumCI56iYUk
I don't want to tell you too much about the song...
Even if you don't like them, you have to admit, they're talented. They can make decent music. I mean, 2:06.

Happy sweet sixteen, Guilty Pleasures. Maybe by the next one, you can make some friends.

Guilty Pleasures #15

I feel like 15 is a special number. It's not 14, and it's almost 16. Guilty Pleasures is almost old enough to drive, and is allowed to dye its hair. By the next segment it can get a job. It'll start in the fast food chains earning minimum wage to earn a sense of responsibility. Then it will go to college, get a degree, and earn a living. Maybe it'll marry Bands I used to like and have wonderful children. They'll be a beautiful family. Eventually Guilty Pleasures will die. I wonder who will go to its funeral.
What.
But to celebrate the wonderful future ahead of Guilty Pleasures, I thought we would do two this time.
Now...I think I've nearly run out of Guilty Pleasures. I wanted to say A Little Piece of Heaven by Avenged Sevenfold, but I feel like cannibalism, necrophilia, and murder isn't such an appealing topic that will attract people to my blog.
If it does...well...here you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VurhzANQ_B0
Another thing I'm going to do is give you Guilty Pleasures I'm not very proud of.
Guilty Pleasures is only 15 and she's already lost her dignity.
It's...Lovekills by Her Bright Skies. Now, it's not my favorite song, nor has it ever been, it won't appear on my iPod, and it's not my favorite song by them. That would be Ghosts of the Attic.
Now, I'm not going to explain why this is a song I'm not too proud of. Just watch it, you may understand. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp8A-A1EZAw
Wait? What were we just talking about? Losing my dignity? Oh right. Let's resume.
Now, this is an alright song, but....I'll explain later.
It's Who I Am by Avion Roe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cgvYU13oPI
Like I said, the song itself is pretty good. It's just the band itself.
First of all, the lead singer seems to have a somewhat...awkward quality about him. I would love dancing lessons from him, just because...if you watched the video, you'll understand.
Also, the band just goes freaking insane at the chorus. In the beginning, they're chill. They're like "Yeah. We're kind of a typical band. There's our drummer, not having too much fun. There's our guitarist, kind of concentrating on the notes. Our bass is chill. I'm the lead singer, I'm singing, you know." And then the chorus comes around and they're like "OH MY GOD THAT COFFEE I HAD EARLIER FINALLY KICKED IN WOAH GUYS THERE'S A CAMERA OOH I HAVE A MICROPHONE AND HAIR. I SHALL FLIP IT. OOH I CAN JUMP. THIS IS FUN GUYS, CHECK THIS OUT. DUDE, WE'RE A BAND! YAY!"
And there you go.

Guilty Pleasures #14

It's Can't Catch Me by Neo Geo. I was debating on whether or not to present it as a song I like, or a song I'm not comfortable with telling you I like.
I'm not comfortable telling you.

Guilty Pleasures #13

It's The Lonely by Christina Perri https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HO4e4nCYBEo
If you like this song, you should check out guilty pleasures #12.
Like I asked last time...does anybody secretly like these soft songs and listen to metal as well? Or is that just me?

Guilty Pleasures #12

This is pretty much the only segment when I'll show you someone who's not in a band. It's Regina Spektor, All the Rowboats. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CZ8ossU4pc
It's not really a guilty pleasure. In the words of Christian Novelli, I'll shout it from the goshdang rooftops.
It just doesn't really go with the other music I'm showing you.
Does anybody else really like metal and also like soft songs like this? Tell me in the comments.

Guilty Pleasures #11

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wX1wPLjPhlc
Yeah...it's Fight by the Dirty Youth.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T LOOK AT THE COMMENTS ON THE VIDEO. THEY WILL FOREVER SCAR YOU AND WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO GO ON A MASSIVE KILLING SPREE.
But, yeah, I kind of like this song and hope you do as well :)

Guilty Pleasures #10

I haven't done one recently, so let's do another.
Have you guys seen (I think) the second guilty pleasure, how I should you a serene calming song? Well, this is the opposite.
I'm about to show you a link, I don't suggest people under 12 clicking it, or if you don't like children playing in pools of blood. You might have already guessed, but it's Nightmare by Avenged Sevenfold. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94bGzWyHbu0
Yup. I like Avenged Sevenfold.

.

This has been Guilty Pleasures, number 10.

Guilty Pleasures #9

It's Hidden by Fighting the Villain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3YWWCMwU10
At first, I thought the singer's voice was annoying. But...I eventually liked it.
It's my music taste.

Guilty Pleasures #8

So here's #8. A bunch of nonexistent readers of this blog were begging me to make another one.
Here it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IelbbLwwKHY
It's Can You Feel my Heart by Bring me the Horizon....
The song has a cool beat for one thing, and if you listen to the lyrics you can hear they have meaning. For example:
I'm scared to get close and I hate being alone.
I long for that feeling to not feel at all.
The higher I get, the lower I'll sink.
I can't drown my demons, they know how to swim.
*I'm editing this days later after this was originally posted, and now it's not a guilty pleasure.
I'm not afraid to say that I love Bring me the Horizon now. I like Sleepwalking, Deathbeds, Go to Hell for Heaven's Sake, and more.

Guilty Pleasures #7

Outta Hand by the Bombpops
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWfEDkmX2bU
Don't ask. It's not a bad song, I think it's a bit of an acquired musical taste. Well...I've acquired it...I guess.

Guilty Pleasures #6

....It's Here I Go by the New Royalty....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqS8wbCdpO0
They're a rather new band. Everything is so simple and I'm slightly confused as to why I like this song. Also, listen to their song On My Own.

Guilty Pleasures #5

It's Vice by Evarose. Never heard of it? Wouldn't surprise me.
Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beNGqgTrUns
They're a pretty good band, but the singer has kind of a thick accent that I'm not the biggest fan of, but the more I listen to it, the more I like it.

Guilty Pleasures #4

I'm going to just say it....So Alone by Anna Blue
I'm going to spoil some of the surprise this time. This song is supposed to be a 30 second ring tone. Also, most of the rhymes are so simple it sounds like something you would sing in preschool. I'm pretty sure Anna Blue doesn't exist, and it sounds like a nine year-old sang it. I think I liked it ironically, but then it magically ended up on my iPod.
You can now judge me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tE31Wd7DF4

Guilty Pleasures #3

So...here it is. The 3rd one.
I scrolled through my iPod to find a song I thought was a bit different than the rest. Well...I found one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_vF5NqgC7E
Dearest (I'm so sorry) by Picture me Broken. I showed it to my friends who stared at me, confused, as they heard 1:31
Well, this is the music I like and the song is awesome.
Okay, go listen to it.

Did you listen to it?

You might not like that specific genre of music, but let me tell you why it's awesome.
  • The lead singer
  • The bass (if you listen you can hear it, and you'll realize it's amazing...and bassists don't get enough credibility)
  • The guitar is just pure awesome, I mean come on!
  • 1:31
  • 1:50
  • 2:10
  • And when you combine everything it makes one awesome song that I'm not afraid to say I like

Guilty Pleasures #2

I'm not ashamed about listening to this music, it's just different than what I normally listen to.
Instead of stalling, I'll dive right into it.
It's Weepy Hollow by Fox Academy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LaWCeQNmGzI
Go and watch it. Then come back.

Did you watch it?

You're probably a little surprised. Well, it's the music I like and I hope you like it as well. Because it's beautiful.

Guilty Pleasures #1

I feel slightly uncomfortable about starting this segment.
You might have seen my previous post about starting this up, but if you didn't you'll soon understand.
Let's get on with it.
I really like this band and I've showed them to my friends and like a lot of their songs. It's just that...if you've seen my previous posts, you might be a little surprised.
Now that you're wondering who I'm talking about, I should probably tell you that it's Ghost Town.
Here's my favorite song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuwk50IpdLI&list=TLymJNWits2N8
My second favorite song is Universe, and my third is Off With her Head.
I haven't known about this band for too long, and I haven't listened to much music quite like this, so I was surprised when 30 seconds into the song I said "Why didn't I know about this sooner?"
And now I have no shame about talking about them. This is the music I like. Please tell me if you like this band too and we can...bond...or something....
I'm not going to give a picture of the band or anything during these segments so you can be surprised.
