Undergroundmusicblog announcements

Hello. If you are reading this, I am no longer blogging on this blog. But, there are almost 250 posts, so feel free to look through them. Even though it won't be new music, it'll still be good music.
So . . . bye.

*This is 12/23/13. I changed the polls slightly so that you can vote until 1/1/24. That's almost ten years from now. I at least wanted any people who happened to be visiting to be able to vote. I didn't extend it any longer because this blog will either get deleted or aliens will cause mass chaos by deleting the internet or murdering that huge satellite in space.
Thought you might want to know that my friend has a blog, and we are very alike. http://www.electricperspectivemusic.blogspot.com/
Yeah.
Oh well. Yeah. This blog is kind of . . . dead.
I guess this is goodbye. Again. Because it's a second goodbye, it's awkwarder, so there's no way to wrap this up. But I'm not a writer or anything, and this is the internet, so I can cut myself off midsentence and add three little dots afterwards . . .

10 signs you've been living under a rock #6

This one is going to frustrate a lot of you. The reason is that I, the person showing you all of this music and telling other people that they've been living under a rock have not listened to this band until 1 month ago.
It's Three Days Grace.
I'm running a bit low on ideas, but they have to be mentioned because of they are among the few bands in the genre that get up to about 60 million views. I mean, think about it. Most music that gets radio play and gets listened to by millions and millions of people is pop. And the people who view those videos are just there to make fun of it. So it's pretty cool that this band can get millions of views and be respected, which is what this segment is kind of about.
It's also so I can know about something than you do.

Three Days Grace has gotten a bit of radio play, so you may recognize these songs:
I Hate Everything About You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8ekz_CSBVg
Never Too Late: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lL2ZwXj1tXM
Animal I Have Become: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqds0B_meys
Pain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ud4HuAzHEUc

Some more recent songs by them, which would actually be some of my favorites:
Misery Love my Company: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkSASi_eN_k
Chalk Outline: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePVErcAUzK8

And if you like them, which you do, here are some more songs:
Break: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4VCpTZye10
The Good Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzRk5EIHAoI
Just Like You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04fQTmvFfGo
Home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NQ8OCcQ3LA

And because I don't know much about them, you can just go on Tumblr and see what you find. Do some learning about a band instead of studying.
*But...did the singers change? Because a lot of the fans are like "Is this Adam or Matt?" and I just....want to know...

10 signs you've been living under a rock #5

Green Day.
You've probably heard about them at one point or another. I mean, they've been a band for over 20 years and have released really popular songs that used to be on the radio a lot.
Green Day is special to me, because they were the one band I was able to grow up listening to. My mom would always have some crappy pop song on the radio, so it was nice to be able to listen to 21 guns after an hour of hearing Britney Spears and Taylor Swift whine into a microphone.
Green Day has released about 15 albums, well, that's at least how many I have on my iPod.
Some songs you might know by them:

21 Guns: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r00ikilDxW4
Wake me Up When September Ends: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU9JoFKlaZ0
Boulevard of Broken Dreams: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Soa3gO7tL-c
Holiday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1OqtIqzScI
Know Your Enemy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IclmVdWNbI
American Idiot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_uujKuJMI
Good Riddance (Time of your life) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnQ8N1KacJc
When I come Around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8dh9gDzmz8
Basket Case: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUTGr5t3MoY
She: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnF0pkWD2Tc

I could list about ten more. So if for some reason you have in fact been living under a rock, go listen to Green Day. They are an amazing band and they've made a lot of music. And before I go, I just wanted to point out that these are some of my personal favorites, besides the ones I just listed.

Redundant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ydpSVvXE9k
Longview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42BBdzzgPNM
21st Century Breakdown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4ZKlT1EvCA
Hitchin' a Ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6jtGjiDwIQ
Misery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JeGs9O7C3IM

I could also list ten more, but that's a good number. So go listen to them, there's no reason you can't.

10 signs you've been living under a rock #4

My internet connection is really slow and frustrating, so I won't be able to post as much, but I'll try to post at least once a day.
I wanted to do another one of these but didn't really know who to talk about. Part of me wants to talk about Black Veil Brides, but I actually don't like them very much and noticed that a lot of other people don't.
So we'll just talk about Evanescence.
The problem with using Evanescence is that I think they're slightly losing popularity, but that doesn't change the fact that they've released amazing music. Amy Lee has got to be one of the greatest singers of all time, the guitar riffs are amazing, and it takes a really talented band to be able to mix opera, violins, and metal.
I will try to get youtube to work and show you some of their most popular songs.
Yay! It worked....crap, I jinxed it...umm....
Oh, here we go. It should work for another minute.

My Immortal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5anLPw0Efmo
Bring me to Life: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YxaaGgTQYM
Going Under: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdhqVtpR2ts
Everybody's Fool: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhC1pI76Rqo
Lithium: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJGpsL_XYQI
Hello: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ih61MJ72v1Y

You may not be as familiar with Evanescence as Paramore, because it's not often you hear people compare a band to Evanescence, because they're really one of a kind, besides We Are the Fallen, but part of Evanescence is in that band.

So, there you go. If you don't know them, you live under a rock.

10 signs you live under a rock #3

This is possibly the biggest sign you live under a rock. Even if you don't like this band, you should at least know they exist. They are possibly one of the most influential bands in the history of music.

the Beatles.

99.99% of you guys know who they were. I know quite a bit about them, so hopefully this will just be a nice article about them with facts you already know.
When the Beatles first started off, they...weren't very good. They didn't even have the lineup of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, (Richard Starkson) and George Harrison. In fact, they didn't even have the name "the Beatles." But one day, the band's unofficial manager arranged for them to play some shows in Germany. He promised that they would have dressing rooms and everything else a band could dream of. It sucked. Half of what their manager said was embellished and they got to play all day in front of a drunk audience. But they got a lot of practice, and by the time they were back in England, they were pretty good. After some members left, the band found some new members until they had the lineup they wanted. One of the members who left suggested they call themselves the Beatles, because they had such a good beat.
You guys should know the rest. They gained some popularity and every girl in the world was screaming over them. (This sounds similar to One Direction, but I'm not going to compare them because John Lennon had more talent in his finger than the entire group of One Direction ever will.) They toured and the audience was so loud they couldn't even hear themselves play. Once they gained a following, they experimented with their music and made awesome songs. Then they got their own lives, still did a little bit of music, and then one of the band members was killed. And no, I did not use Wikipedia to write this.
Sound familiar?
So, if for some reason you don't know what I'm talking about, here are some good songs by them:

Hey Jude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDdI7GhZSQA
Eleanor Rigby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Itt02QOO0
Here Comes the Sun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxzEeKfpyIg
While My Guitar Gently Weeps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3RYvO2X0Oo

Well, I hope this brings back good memories or that you just realized that you've been living under a rock. Yes, the Beatles are not like any band I've talked about, but they are way too popular to be ignored in this segment.

10 signs you've been living under a rock #2

I just wanted to tell somebody that I looked into who reads these things, and it turns out the country that reads my blog the most is the USA, and the second is Russia. So, hello, if you're from Russia reading this...what's up?
This is the second sign. In case you missed it, the first sign is that you don't know who Paramore is.
The second doesn't need nearly as much explanation. It's My Chemical Romance.
If you don't know what My Chemical Romance is...er...was....then you have been living under a rock.
Like I said, this doesn't need much explanation. What I'll do is I'll just show you some links. Watch the videos and you'll understand.

Teenagers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6EQAOmJrbw
Famous Last Words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bbTtPL1jRs
Welcome to the Black Parade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDWgsQhbaqU

You should understand by now.
I don't really know what to say...maybe some fun facts....
The lead singer was Gerard Way.
The lead guitarist was Ray Toro.
Mikey Way was on bass.
The drummers were constantly changing.
Frank Iero joined shortly after the band was formed....
The band broke up in 2013 and all of their fans were just...devastated.

That's all I can really say about My Chemical Romance. But if you've never heard of them and you like to listen to alternative rock, then you've been living under a rock. I can 100% guarantee it.

10 signs you've been living under a rock

A new segment.
Don't look at me like that.
The different thing about this segment is that it will have an end. There will only be 10.
Basically, I'll show you some really popular bands, and at the end of this series, you'll be able to find out if you've been living under a rock.
The first one is a huge sign that you've been living under a rock. If you don't know this band, then I can guarantee that you haven't looked in the comments on youtube. If you don't know this band, then you also don't know what rage you will get for comparing other bands to this band.

Paramore.

Not only is Paramore one of the most popular female fronted bands of today, but it is among the few female fronted bands in their genre that have gotten radio play and millions of fans.
You might have heard them on the radio and didn't know it. Here's some of the songs I personally have heard on the radio that I really like. Of course, lots of their songs have been on the radio, but these are just some of the more popular ones:

Misery Business: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCyGvGEtOwc
Ignorance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OH9A6tn_P6g
The Only Exception: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-J7J_IWUhls

If you don't like those, they've released a whole new album with a much different sound:

Still Into You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OblL026SvD4
Now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G133kjKy91U
Ain't it Fun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDQt4KLRT4M

Lots of people compare less popular female fronted bands to Paramore. If you open your eyes, you'll see that this causes lots of arguments on youtube. But before we go into that, let's talk some more about their songs.

Here's a song from their first album, All we Know is Falling: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-MaaxgdUT4
Second, Riot!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kz6hNDlEEg
Third, Brand New Eyes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5howHv3F54
Fourth is a self-titled album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CWhPozi7Kg
And you will continue to live under a rock if you don't know this Twilight soundtrack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvnkAtWcKYg

Also, if you want to convince your friends that you don't live under a rock, two of the members of Paramore left the band after Brand New Eyes. It caused a pretty big change in the music. If you know that, it will just make you understand....life...I guess...not really...

So, I hope you found some songs you like, and I also hope you don't feel so proud of yourself because there are nine more reasons why you are living under a rock.
For others, I hope this was a nice trip down memory lane.
