Hello. If you are reading this, I am no longer blogging on this blog. But, there are almost 250 posts, so feel free to look through them. Even though it won't be new music, it'll still be good music.
So . . . bye.

*This is 12/23/13. I changed the polls slightly so that you can vote until 1/1/24. That's almost ten years from now. I at least wanted any people who happened to be visiting to be able to vote. I didn't extend it any longer because this blog will either get deleted or aliens will cause mass chaos by deleting the internet or murdering that huge satellite in space.

Song title rant

This isn't a new segment.
It's a rant.
What the hell has happened to song titles?
It seems like all of these underground bands are trying to come up with the weirdest song titles possible. And I sound like the weirdest person when I tell people that my favorite song is "Cats are really cool but I'm on a plane near the Indian Ocean."
It seems like the song title should be simple and about the song. Let's take Ignorance by Paramore. She says "Ignorance" about six times during the song, and in word, it sums up the meaning of the song.
Now, let's take "You Bring the Cupcakes, I'll Bring the Zombies" by Bannerhill.
The song has nothing to do with cupcakes or zombies. It makes no sense, it has no meaning.
So this got me to thinking. Your song title should be the meaning of the song, or if it's pop music, the one word in the chorus that is repeated 40 times during the song. I believe that if you have a meaningless title, you have a meaningless song.
It's okay if you don't use the word in the song, say Imaginary by Evanescence. It adds to the meaning, it sums it up. CAKE AND ZOMBIES DOESN'T SUM UP A SONG THAT'S NOT ABOUT CAKES OR ZOMBIES!!
Well, glad I got that off my chest.
