So, you may notice a trend on this blog, that most of the bands I show you are female fronted.
There's an explanation. And for you to get a full understanding, I have to tell you about all of the music I have ever liked. My musical history, except this is about what I listen to.
I was raised on pop music, with the exception of my brother who loved bands like Green Day and the Beatles, so I always liked them. But besides that, all I ever heard growing up was the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and that has enabled me to developed a deep hatred for all pop music. A couple of years ago, a miracle happened. I found Evanescence. The first song I heard by them blew my mind and I felt betrayed that I hadn't heard this amazing music before. Then, I found Paramore. My life had changed. But then I listened to some screamo song sung by some guy with black hair that completely covered his eyes that scared me a lot. I also found myself in that part of youtube that has a lot of screamo music. I saw bands called "Death Fatal Wounds" who made songs called "The Day I Commited Homicide." So, for some reason I thought that any song sung by a male wouldn't sound so great, so I got into female fronted bands. So I started liking Icon for Hire, the Pretty Reckless, and some pop punk bands. The list goes on, and I stayed like this for a while. Then I grew up and wasn't so close-minded and then started listening to Fox Academy, more Green Day, and eventually Bring me the Horizon. Now I listen to all of the music! Except pop. I still have complete and utter loathing for pop. Now, here's the point I'm getting to. I haven't bought any songs sung by the bands I like now, so don't be surprised if during a Spotlight Song of the Week, I somehow find myself talking to you about Sk8ter Boi by old school Avril Lavigne. I also don't know many bands that are so mind-blowing and amazing that you probably don't know.
Glad I cleared that up. If you're reading this, help me and list every band you like that I haven't featured yet.
Undergroundmusicblog announcements
Hello. If you are reading this, I am no longer blogging on this blog. But, there are almost 250 posts, so feel free to look through them. Even though it won't be new music, it'll still be good music.
So . . . bye.
*This is 12/23/13. I changed the polls slightly so that you can vote until 1/1/24. That's almost ten years from now. I at least wanted any people who happened to be visiting to be able to vote. I didn't extend it any longer because this blog will either get deleted or aliens will cause mass chaos by deleting the internet or murdering that huge satellite in space.
Thought you might want to know that my friend has a blog, and we are very alike. http://www.electricperspectivemusic.blogspot.com/
Yeah.
Oh well. Yeah. This blog is kind of . . . dead.
I guess this is goodbye. Again. Because it's a second goodbye, it's awkwarder, so there's no way to wrap this up. But I'm not a writer or anything, and this is the internet, so I can cut myself off midsentence and add three little dots afterwards . . .
