But this is a necessary segment. All of the bands I mention are bands that I used to really like and now just ask myself why I ever listened to them.
You may or may not know that when I started to get into alternative rock, I listened to a lot of female fronted bands that turned out to actually be pop rock or punk pop. I still do kind of like them, but not enough to be a guilty pleasure. The first band is Halocene. They're a pretty good band. The lead singer has a nice voice and they definitely put a lot of work into their music. So no, they're not a bad band. However, their genre of music just seems kind of weird compared to what I tend to listen to now.
So let's take you through my musical history with them:
- I was randomly clicking through youtube and found this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_swSQOyB88
- That's pretty much the only song I listened to by them for a few months.
- I was randomly clicking through youtube once again and found some of their less popular music that I liked as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJNTCtXHK_s, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULTbmgRgyRM
- I look back, and I'm kind of confused.
- Even though I didn't like the band as much, I really respected them because of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2PDqpJ3aDE
There's not much history. I admit, I still do listen to them a little bit. They are a good band, but it's no longer my music taste.
So, I either hope you can relate with me, that you found a band you like, or that you learned something new, or that this was a nice way for you to kill time.
