Undergroundmusicblog announcements
Hello. If you are reading this, I am no longer blogging on this blog. But, there are almost 250 posts, so feel free to look through them. Even though it won't be new music, it'll still be good music. So . . . bye.*This is 12/23/13. I changed the polls slightly so that you can vote until 1/1/24. That's almost ten years from now. I at least wanted any people who happened to be visiting to be able to vote. I didn't extend it any longer because this blog will either get deleted or aliens will cause mass chaos by deleting the internet or murdering that huge satellite in space.Thought you might want to know that my friend has a blog, and we are very alike. http://www.electricperspectivemusic.blogspot.com/Yeah. Oh well. Yeah. This blog is kind of . . . dead. I guess this is goodbye. Again. Because it's a second goodbye, it's awkwarder, so there's no way to wrap this up. But I'm not a writer or anything, and this is the internet, so I can cut myself off midsentence and add three little dots afterwards . . .
10 signs you live under a rock #3
This is possibly the biggest sign you live under a rock. Even if you don't like this band, you should at least know they exist. They are possibly one of the most influential bands in the history of music.
the Beatles.
99.99% of you guys know who they were. I know quite a bit about them, so hopefully this will just be a nice article about them with facts you already know.
When the Beatles first started off, they...weren't very good. They didn't even have the lineup of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, (Richard Starkson) and George Harrison. In fact, they didn't even have the name "the Beatles." But one day, the band's unofficial manager arranged for them to play some shows in Germany. He promised that they would have dressing rooms and everything else a band could dream of. It sucked. Half of what their manager said was embellished and they got to play all day in front of a drunk audience. But they got a lot of practice, and by the time they were back in England, they were pretty good. After some members left, the band found some new members until they had the lineup they wanted. One of the members who left suggested they call themselves the Beatles, because they had such a good beat.
You guys should know the rest. They gained some popularity and every girl in the world was screaming over them. (This sounds similar to One Direction, but I'm not going to compare them because John Lennon had more talent in his finger than the entire group of One Direction ever will.) They toured and the audience was so loud they couldn't even hear themselves play. Once they gained a following, they experimented with their music and made awesome songs. Then they got their own lives, still did a little bit of music, and then one of the band members was killed. And no, I did not use Wikipedia to write this.
Sound familiar?
So, if for some reason you don't know what I'm talking about, here are some good songs by them:
Hey Jude: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDdI7GhZSQA
Eleanor Rigby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9Itt02QOO0
Here Comes the Sun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxzEeKfpyIg
While My Guitar Gently Weeps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3RYvO2X0Oo
Well, I hope this brings back good memories or that you just realized that you've been living under a rock. Yes, the Beatles are not like any band I've talked about, but they are way too popular to be ignored in this segment.
